Public Service culture and conditions
In this module, you’ll receive an introduction to the culture of public service, gain information about complying with critical legislation, and understand the behavioural requirements under the APS Values and Code of Conduct. As a result, you’ll develop an appreciation for the government’s role and gain a clear understanding of how your organization’s allocated work fits within the broader government agenda.

Public Service culture and conditions
Our leadership and management module introduces you to theoretical concepts, with a particular focus on the public sector context. You’ll have the opportunity to reflect on and consider your emotional intelligence and self-awareness, and how they impact others. Additionally, you’ll learn and practice practical leadership skills, such as teamwork and group dynamics, as well as giving and receiving feedback.

Risk Management and WHS
Module three introduces you to risk management concepts in the context of organizational risk, appetite, and tolerance, as well as their application to Work Health and Safety. You’ll learn how to identify and evaluate risks, and develop risk management strategies that can be applied in a variety of settings.

Complex communication
Module four will explore advanced communication techniques and conflict management in the public sector. You’ll learn about various communication models and identify applicable approaches in the public sector. Additionally, you’ll learn how to effectively write complex organizational documents and templates, such as briefs, reports, or minutes.

Career management and personal growth
In this module, you’ll learn the skills necessary to manage your career effectively and achieve your life goals. You’ll also learn how to contribute to the career management of others by identifying their strengths and opportunities, developing and implementing career plans, and monitoring their progress.
