Giving and Receivng Feedback

Overview

This course covers the skills required for an individual to monitor the work performance of another person and provide feedback. We are continuously in the position of having to give and receive feedback. All of us have been giving and receiving feedback all of our lives so this is not a new skill

We have all had positive and destructive experiences with feedback. The aim of this session is to take a look at feedback from a different perspective,

The issues involved in providing constructive feedback are addressed using several models to explore the best approaches to take for different individuals. The participants will take part in practice sessions to experiment with the skills needed to provide constructive performance feedback.

 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this session learners will be able to:

  • Explain the key factors in giving, receiving and seeking feedback
  • Explain the importance of feedback in the workplace
  • Demonstrate the skill of giving and receiving feedback
  • Identify other issues to be considered when giving feedback
  • Demonstrate the use of a feedback model

Duration

This course can be tailored to business needs. A half day workshop will provide an overview and introductory information. A full day session will incorporate more practical sessions allowing for participants to spend more time practicing and receiving specific feedback.
